Lucky Number Slevin (2006)
|
I had very low expectations about this film. In fact when I went to see it all I had to go on were a review from Empire which gave it a measely 2 stars and a glowing review from my friend Craig however upon seeing the film it is as good as Craig said. It is the story of a kid called Slevin who is having a bad day and to make it even worse he has been confused with the friend he is staying with and two rival gangs both want his money. He has to work out how to get the money or just how to survive.
The only possible problem with the story being told here is the fact that the two gang bosses live in flats opposite eachother otherwise the whole cast gleams and this wouldn't be out of place as a Sin City sequal with both Hartigan (Bruce Willis) and the man (Josh Hartnett) in Slevin as the two characters. Add in Morgan Freeman and sir Ben Kingsley and you have the mix for a great film. Which actually makes me think that this film should have in fact been better. It could have been with such an all star cast but there were a couple of places where it falls close to flat. The film is good so you should definately give it a go! Review by Jonathan Little
