Get Smart (2008)

With Get Smart I was expecting something of a Johnny English clone. In other words a little too slapstick to really take the plot seriously. I feel instead that the film while funny does well with its plot. Senior Analyst for CONTROL Maxwell Smart yearns to be promoted to the job of Agent, he knows the ins and outs of the enemies habits and thoughts. Unlike Johnny English he is not a bumbling fool instead he is quite capable just a little bit clumsy. When he is promoted as one of the last agents left he takes to the task well even if he does not easily win over his partner Agent 99. Steve Carrell does his usual good work in the lead role and Anne Hathaway is convincing enough as Agent 99. This then is a good film filled with plot twists and comedy. The ending is inevitable and story while predictable is also good fun. In the end everyone gets what they have coming to them and it is one for all the family.
